NACSB National Players of the Week - July 1, 2026
SANFORD, Fla.- Throughout the 2026 season, the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball will honor two players at the conclusion of each week, a National Player and Pitcher of the Week. Players are nominated for the award by earning their league's Player or Pitcher of the Week award. This week's honors represent performances through Sunday, June 29. The weekly honors are selected via a vote of league officials from around the Alliance.
June concludes with Sam Brown (Gulf Coast State) of the Strasburg Express in the Valley Baseball League as the NACSB National Player of the Week. Brown was 7-for-14 in four games with four homers and 11 RBIs. He was 3-for-3 with two homers, both in the same inning, and six RBIs against Woodstock, and had another two-homer game and drove in four runs against Purcellville.
Entering the final month of the season, Brown is a major contender for top honors in the Valley League. Entering play on July 1, the Gulf Coast State product ranks in the top three in the VBL in batting average (.433), runs batted in (24), and home runs (5). He has been the leader for a Strasburg team with a 12-11 record, just 1.5 games back in the VBL North.
The final NACSB National Pitcher of the Week for June is Trey Harvey (Young Harris) of the Brookhaven Bucks out of the Sunbelt Baseball League. Harvey climbed the mound twice this past week, throwing four scoreless innings against Alpharetta on Monday and tossing five innings against Atlanta on Saturday. For the week, he allowed just two unearned runs on three hits across nine innings, striking out 14 hitters.
In his first five appearances of the season, Harvey has logged 27 strikeouts in 17 innings of work, striking out 14.29 hitters per nine and posting a 1-0 record. The Young Harris product has been one of the staff leaders for the Bucks, who are currently in second place in the SBL with a 13-5 overall record.

The National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB) is an alliance of twelve college summer leagues that are partially funded by Major League Baseball. Each league and all of their teams are non-profit organizations that support the highest level of collegiate players in their journey to play professional baseball. Members work closely with college baseball programs to ensure player development and eligibility during summer months while maintaining policies that keep player health paramount. This is evidenced by the Alliance's early adoption of the MLB Pitch Smart policy and maintaining a reasonable number of games played across each league. Over 4,000 players choose NACSB leagues each summer with hundreds getting their name called in the MLB draft each year. Member league information can be found on NACSB.ORG.
